Success And Its Right Essence

We all spend a huge part of our life setting various goals and then working towards them. Although life presents to us different situations, it has something for us to achieve in every moment. It is in living every instant of life with happiness and contentment, that we attain true success. Of course, it is very important for us to reach goals and milestones in personal and professional life. But along our journey towards the goal, if we can remain right and light - and thereby happy - that is true success.
Success has been commonly perceived as the happening of a positive event or reaching an important milestone. Whether it is getting good scores, being awarded a degree, completing a project, buying a home, or overcoming an illness - we consider ourselves successful upon accomplishing any of these. We can see these are external events or happenings. Thus we believed that success comes from outside.
Material gains alone do not mean success. Being successful in maintaining our emotional and spiritual wellness are equally important. We experience such wellness when we radiate good wishes, love and compassion to everyone while working towards the goals, since the same energy comes back to us. We may face challenges in terms of difficult people or tough situations, but they are also meant to be a part of our journey and not obstacles to our goals. This realization helps us cross challenges with inner stability. Thus we experience a sense of achievement at every step from start to finish, not only upon reaching a goal.

True success is about remaining peaceful and happy WHILE working towards our goal, NOT ONLY AFTER reaching the goal. Let us also explore how our inner power influences it.
We previously understood that we are human 'beings' and not human 'doings'. So each time we experience spiritual and emotional wellness, we can consider ourselves to be successful in our inner world. When we work towards our external goals in this state, the energy of inner success and positivity reflects in our action. Thus we will have higher probability success in our personal and professional life.
Each of us may have been in situations where our state of mind was positive and vibrant, but we lacked the talent or skill to complete a particular task. Yet we succeeded in completing it. This happened because of our inner power. When we use our inner powers of confidence, will power and faith, we can overcome obstacles and create miracles in life. On the other hand, we may have also been in situations when our state of mind was disturbed. Such days we failed at the simplest of tasks despite having the required talent. It proves that our success rate is higher when we our inner strength is higher.
Repeated and lasting success require a positive combination of our state of mind, intelligence, sanskars (personality traits or nature) and skills. If we approach our goals with these, even if we are less successful than desired, we do not go into pain. Instead we will continue to try again without losing enthusiasm.

Each of our external actions form one aspect of life while internal feelings form another aspect. Both are independent of each other. If we are successful in our actions, it is not necessary that we will be happy in our feelings. But if we are happy, we will experience contentment and success.
Before beginning any task, let us pause for a moment and observe the quality of our thoughts. Positive, powerful and happy thoughts will empower us to succeed. Thoughts are of worry, lack of determination, fear of failure or negativity in general, indicate we are not internally happy. Such a mindset will not provide the right momentum to start the task. It eventually blocks or slows down our success.
Milestones and goals always exist and is very important that we do our best to them. Sometimes we may want to achieve a lot in a little time. But if we use shortcuts or wrong means, our mind cannot be at ease. Quality of the resulting success becomes questionable. Moreover we cannot enjoy the success if we did these along the way -
• Compromised on our values and morals
• Harmed others for our gains
• Created fear or anxiety (negative energy)
• Relationships and health were affected
Let us use the right energy and our original virtues of at every step from start to finish - so we celebrate our journey as much as we celebrate our success upon reaching the goal. That brings us success in its right essence.
