THE FEARLESS WIND
Women Empowerment is increasing in India and its a
good news for a family to have a Girl Child. There are lots many women who
prove themselves that they can fulfil their Dreams. According to spiritual
science we are soul, we should never consider ourselves as being a girl we are
weak, in our past birth we might be a man but in this birth we are women. Only
body changes but soul remains the same. This should be set on the mindset of
Indian people that everyone can become successful, doesn’t matter whether its a
Man or a Women. This days Govt started giving opportunity to Women , even the
start-up India has made separate project for Women Entrepreneur, society is
changing day by day so its good news that they are giving importance to their
daughter also. But there are many Powerful Women although they succeeded what
they wanted but are not that known by Everyone on this Globe. I will discuss
such kind of Women because they are a source of Inspiration and their work
should be appreciated and will also discuss about the Famous one too. I will
explain how Women in their particular field were able to achieve their Dreams,
it might be Sports, Business, Arts, Singing, Acting etc. .Here goes the
Fearless Women –
1.Priyanka Chopra : PC who is also my inspiration
and has accomplished a lot in her acting career, she was the winner of Miss
India and Miss World in 2000. When she started her career, Directors said “She
can’t work it out” but after 13-15 years of Experience she became Inspiration
for women. She opted both easy and difficult
role in Bollywood. Her versatility is extraordinary. Now, She perform in Global
platform. She was in TIME MAGAZINE and She was the first Indian ambassador for
the world-wide famous brand Guess. She host the “OSCAR AWARD”
By becoming the first Indian actress to bag a lead role in an American
TV series called ‘Quantico’. She was given the title as India’s Most Powerful
Women in FEMINA Magazine.
Her most Inspiring words :
-Take risk and Life will Reward You
-Never let anyone take you for granted in a
relationship.
-Live for Yourself and not to please for everyone
around you.
2.Meena Bindra : Founder of India’s largest
readymade ethnic wear brand BIBA. She grew up in Delhi but lost her father at
young age. She loves her hobby of designing clothes which ultimately led to a
Brand. She married to a naval officer as a result of which she moved across
India. As her focus is on creativity so with initial investment she started
garments design on her leisure time. Her most inspirational words are “I enjoy
my work and Each garment is a work of art and I never work under pressure.”
3.Patricia Narayan : A proud winner
of “[Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry] “FICCI Woman
Entrepreneur Award” (2010); after successfully fighting all the odds of failed
marriage, addict husband, and taking care of two kids, lives in a
well-furnished duplex apartment in Velachery with a shining luxury car parked
outside the door.
She got into a Love marriage at the age of 19, but
her husband turned out to be abusive alcoholic. Though she was a college drop
out, she tapped her skills as a cook to become a caterer in Chennai. She got
contracts from Government offices in and around the city. She says “once you
start liking your work you don’t easily feel tired”. Patricia grew from 50
paisa a day to an average of Rs. 2 lakh, daily.
Life Lessons
-Always stick to what you know.
-Believe in yourself and the product you are making.
-Never compromise on quality.
-Never lose your self-confidence.
-You should know what you ask your employee to do.
-Struggle makes you even more mature to retain the
success for a long time.
-Success isn’t a status or possession that stays
with you for lifetime, or a permanent stoppage of an accomplishment, it is
rather a constant journey where you have to maintain your consistency.
-Pain is an inevitable part of life and it shouldn’t
stop us from moving forward as – ‘moving is life’ and ‘still is dead’.
-To be a successful entrepreneur, you don’t have to
be highly educated (as degree doesn’t always ensure success)
.
4.Binapani Talukdar : Founder of Assam Handicraft
trade “PANSY EXPORTS”, she herself use to make decorative handicrafts, then
started garment design. She was born and raised in Guwahati ,Assam. She started
Art and craft school which shut down later because of pressure from her husband
to focus more on kids. But she carried on with handicrafts export company,
learning the skills of quality standards and international pricing for clients in countries such as South Africa
and Brazil.
Life Lesson :
-Be where you are in that present moment.
-Be all that you can be and more.
5.Dipali Sikand : Founder of Les Concierges, grew up
in Kolkata. In her early years, she worked at a travel agency. She was also
active in politics but moved into HR. Her marriage unfortunately fell apart and
she was left with a baby with no financial resources. She raised both young
baby and young Business with passion and determination. Customers such as Wipro
and IBM paid well for the services.
Life Lesson:
-Be passionate about what you do. And don’t be
driven by money alone.
6.Neerja Bhanot : She was one of the bravest Senior
Flight purser for PAN Am but was killed while saving passengers from heavily
armed terrorist on board the hijacked Pan Am 73 at Karachi airport on 5th
September 1986. The Govt of India posthumously awarded her “The Ashoka Chakra
Award”. She had an arrange marriage but
the marriage proved to be disaster as being abused by her husband for dowry.
So, she was separated and focused her efforts on building her career for
herself. She also undertook some modelling assignments and appeared in many TV
ads. A movie “Neerja” was made on her
biography where Sonam Kapoor is the Lead
Role.
7.Mary Kom : Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom, better
known as Mary Kom is an Indian Boxer.
She has taken the Indian Boxing from an existence of obscurity to the world
podium. She was born and raised in a small village of Manipur of NE states
India. She won 6 Gold Medals at the World Amateur Boxing Championship and won
Gold at 2003 Asian Games. She won Witch Cup in the year 2002. Kom is a woman of
substance who proved that everything is possible if you set your Heart, Body,
Mind and Soul into Your Dream.
Mary Kom got married early in 2005 to her lifelong
friend and had twins in 2007, which critics thought were the end of her career.
But she close to show public what a woman sports person was capable of. Kom’s
autobiography was given the title as “Unbreakable” which was published in 2013
by Harper Collins.
Her work was appreciated and in 2014, a biopic of
Kom’s Life released in the name “Mary Kom” with Priyanka Chopra playing as the
Lead Role .
8. Rashmi Bansal : She is the author of 7 best
seller books on Entrepreneurship – “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” and “Connect the
Dots” were sold over million of copies and has been translated into 10
languages. Rashmi completed her education from IIM-A in 1991, after which she
joined Bennett Coleman and Co. as a management trainee in 1993. She turned into a prolific writer when she
started her college in IIM-A, and it happen to get published in some leading
newspaper and magazines. Rashmi launched highly successful youth page “Indy”.
During her stint with “Times of India”, she started
youth page “The Independent” which gave her brilliant Idea – “why just a page,
when you can dedicate a whole Magazine to youth”?. Thus, she launched JAM in
1995 which means “Just Another Magazine”
She took drastic step at very young age of 24,
coming from surrounding where all her childhood friends went to IIT or did PhD from
abroad, made her father go completely against the idea made by him believe that
she had chosen the wrong path which would lead to losing out on stability and
security. She was adamant about what step she has taken and decided to stick to
her decision.
In a matter of 10 years, she brought JAM to a scale
where it is now become India’s largest youth magazine. She believed that JAM
will keep closely connected with youth, their hopes, dream’s and could easily
understand their needs or desires.
Rashmi’s third entrepreneurial stint came in after
she transformed herself into successful Author and decided to transform
Authorship into entrepreneurship by launching
“Bloody Good Book ! “ in 2014.
Rashmi Bansal is now a Published Author, a widely
followed Motivational Speaker and Highly successful Entrepreneur !
9. Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad : Lijjat
papad is a highly popular brand in India. Most of us might remember the buck
toothed bunny that appeared in TV commercials, but many are not aware of the
fact that it’s power of rural women and their self-empowerment initiative which
made the brand possible. Lijjat papad was started with a modest loan of Rs80
and now its exceeding Rs301 crore.
The most interesting lesson from Lijjat papad is
sticking to its core values for past 10 years. Lijjat ensured that every
process runs smoothly, Members earn a comfortable profit, Agents get their due
share, Consumers gets the assurance of quality at a good price and Society
benefits from its donations to various causes.
Jyoti Naik is the President of “Shri Mahila Griha
Udyog Lijjat Papad”, and the entire cycle starts with simple recruitment
process. Any women who pledges to adopt the institution values and who respect
the quality becomes the member and co-owner of organization. Their main motive is women who want to involved
in rolling of the papads need to have clean house and space to dry the papads.
Those who do not have that facility can take other responsibilities.
10. Kalpana Saroj : She is an Indian Women
Entrepreneur born in Roperkheda village in Maharashtra, India. A Dalit by birth
and attempted suicide at a tender age. She was married by her parents at the age of 12, and was physically abused y
her husband’s family, but was rescued by her father. She had a tailoring
business, then furniture store eventually joining the league of successful
women entrepreneurs.
She also started an NGO where they aggregated and
distributed knowledge about various Govt. loans and schemes available to people
like her. She did not want that the future child, boy or girl, go through what
had happened with her. She wanted them to know that everyone of us can do
wonderful things with their Life provided they follow their Goals and Dreams.
The Nation honoured this amazing women with Padma
Shri Award.
Life Lesson :
Hard work is not overrated. It is fail proof, what
you want – whatever it is – you shall get if you apply wholeheartedly and work towards it
with single minded vision.
These are brief vignettes of few Powerful Women, Hope you like their Stories, I
will try to do more research on Powerful Women who really deserve the
appreciation and they should be known by people across the globe.
